Billing Operations Team Leader

The role of the Global Billing Services team is to provide first-class billing services to multinational customers globally for various innovative telecom products. Timeliness, quality of billing and customer satisfaction are our main goals. As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to work independently in a fast-growing environment and contribute to an exciting billing transformation project.

The purpose of the role is the management of the Billing Operations Team, taking end-to-end responsibility for monitoring the in-month billing of all customers and the resolution of all billing related queries and disputes.

What will your Team do:

● Ensure timeliness and quality of billing of a pre-defined customer portfolio
● Perform validation activities at all steps of the billing cycle
● Bill Assurance
● Bill review
● Tariff and Call Detail Record analysis
● Manage changes, customer account provisioning and reconciliation activities on different billing platforms
● Act as a single point of contact and manage billing queries by taking proactive ownership of issues (assign priority, owner, timescales) and drive resolution
● Liaising with multiple parties (e.g. service and sales managers, technical teams, local markets, external partners)
● Identify areas for improvement in internal processes along with solutions

What you will do:

● Monitor and drive the timeliness and quality of monthly billing
● Introduce and maintain proper controls to ensure business efficiency and audit compliance
● Manage customer escalations, liaise with different internal parties to drive resolution while informing management on the risks, issues and progress to date
● Ability to plan and prioritise own work and other people's
● Deliver SLA’s and KPI’s in line with contractual terms
● Monitor and report the performance of the billing analysts, provide feedback, coaching, improvement plans
● Leadership, guidance and development of Billing Operations team members (8-10 people)
● Continuous improvement of all KPI metrics in line with the Business Strategy
● Identify areas for continuous process improvement to drive efficiencies


● Fluency in English is a must
● 3+ years people management experience
● 3+ years billing experience, preferably in a telecom environment
● User experience with Billing Support Systems (Provisioning, Mediation, Rating, CRM)
● Kenan or Amdocs experience is an advantage
● Good understanding of billing processes
● Ability to work independently, own complex queries and make decision
● Ability to communicate well with high level stakeholders
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and influencing skills
● International experience and cultural sensitivity
